The LightWave gathers people from all walks of life, religious backgrounds, and philosophical perspectives, to come together and generate light daily for the transformation of our world. This can be done through prayer, meditation, drumming, dancing, yoga, or any other light creating activity. It can be done alone or in groups.

The LightWave passes through every time zone beginning at 6:00pm each day. Individuals and groups are encouraged to generate light for the betterment of humanity and the world for that hour or a portion of it. At 7:00pm the Wave passes to the next time zone west and sweeps around the planet across all 24 time zones on a daily basis. We then come together globally, for a half hour before and after each new and full Moon, in a crescendo of unity and light twice or three times each month. Dates and times can be found at lightworks.com.

This is a movement that anyone can participate in. There is no dogma or way that this must be done other than in a spirit of cooperation and unity with all of creation. There is no right or wrong way to add your energy. People from any religious background may lend their energy without having to change their beliefs or practices. All that is asked is that one is willing to combine their good will with others for the common good

Guy Spiro speaks about how the LightWave came about.

"Back in the mid to late '70's, while sitting in a room full of people meditating, a vision washed over me. We were generating light and the sum total of that light was greater than the number of us sitting there, "Where two or more are gathered", and all at once, in an instant of time, the entire idea was downloaded into my consciousness.

"I had the realization that light obliterates dark. If you walk into a dark room and flip the switch the light goes on and the darkness disappears. This is true on all levels, not just the physical. If light is seen to be things such as love, compassion, cooperation, consciousness and the like, and dark is seen as fear, hate, conflict, ignorance and such, then light again obliterates dark. I saw how if enough people gathered together simultaneously around the world in meditation and prayer, the pooling of the light generated could change the world. In my vision we would come together globally at appointed times and on a daily basis pass the effort from time zone to time zone in a wave of light that would constantly circle the planet.

"At that time we had not yet started The Monthly Aspectarian. I believed that I had no voice to reach the world and I thought that it was such a powerful idea that I would file it away in the back of my mind to implement at some future time. Fortunately, ideas of this magnitude happen simultaneously to many people and in 1983 John Randolph Price organized the first large event which he called The World Instant of Cooperation. This was followed by many other smaller events leading up to The Harmonic Convergence in 1987. Smaller efforts continued and in 1989 a critical mass of light was generated and the world did indeed change, seemingly overnight.

"Those too young to remember the cold war can only imagine the dark heavy cloud that hung over mass consciousness. The specter of nuclear annihilation that had started to grow large in the 1950's had come to dominate the mass mind to such a degree that it was commonly thought that it wasn't if it would happen but when. The global light generating events that were organized were a direct response to this pervasive darkness in the mass mind. When the critical mass of light was generated we sat in front of our TV's and watched in utter amazement as people danced on top of the Berlin Wall while others were knocking holes in it. Two days before people were still being machine gunned for trying to cross it. In short order following the Soviet Union disintegrated, the east block opened, and the South Africans gave up Apartheid, all without a shot being fired. We thought these things were not going to happen in our lifetime, but there they were. We should still be dancing in the street."

"The global war on terrorism is an attempt to use fear to consolidate power and replace the cold war as an excuse for any number of abuses. While the actual danger from terrorism is a faint shadow of the danger posed during the cold war it has been just as effective if not even more so in scaring populations into accepting a decrease in light and a retreat back into greater darkness. We must now take up the cause again, and this time make it permanent. The LightWave can and will fix all of humanity's problems. From terrorism to environmental degradation, from plutocratic manipulation to rampant corporatist pillage of entire countries, none of these things can stand the light. The things of darkness cannot exist in the light. By adding your light to the light of other well meaning people in the world we will create a condition that we can now only imagine.

We have never known a time in our history when darkness did not dominate light in human affairs. Imagine bringing darkness and light into balance. Now imagine actually tipping the scales toward light."
