Meditation Messages for Ascension

by Maurie D. Pressman, M.D.

Messages from the soul lend a new and inspirational viewpoint.

After struggling with difficulties in meditation for some time now, I've come to a point where I can settle in and receive lessons from the soul. In reading some of these, I found they were valuable instruction, messages from a higher place providing guidance and ascension in life and beyond this life into the planes above. They will be part of a forthcoming book, Lessons From The Soul: Thought Journeys into the Future. Here are two which instructed me and lent a view of the inspired heights "up there."

"The Fall" and Its Beauty

I felt the beautiful bliss of knowing that everything is as it should be; that I and everything else is perfect; that I and all are enfolded in the Plan. This was a complete and quiet joy, a bliss and happiness. But as I stirred out of this state, I lost it, thought about it, and it was gone, except in memory. This was the descent as it had been in the beginning.

God bestirred Himself, and from the Void of potential manifestation emerged -- duality, separateness. It was perfect in its unveiling and separateness. From this came free will, and with free will the ability to be apart from God and His/Her consciousness; to make choices of our own. This is separateness but it has a beauty, for it is creation. And God entered His/Her creations, and knew them, was able to become conscious in them and of them, able to explore, to create further in an ever-expanding creativeness of creation.

This is separateness; this is the fall; this is the beauty of it.

A veil grew over the memory of who we are, and of our connection with Him/Her. The veil sealed the separateness except for its potential within. And with increasing Knowledge, and the experience of the quiet bliss of being in Perfection, we tore a rent in the veil. We saw, we became, we are.

And another:

Life Exists Before Death: The Immortality That We Are.

What a strange statement. But so many things that I learn about life after death, as I read and meditate and have my own near-death experiences, are similar though perhaps attenuated in life before death. It is strange and important to realize it as life in the spirit world. And why not realize that we live in the spirit world now, before leaving the physical body. And how is this expressed?

In obedience to Karmic Law, we meet, on the other side, those whom we have hurt so that our experiences may be corrected. We then feel their hurt. This is a learning experience of the soul in order that things may be corrected during the next lifetime. In this way, the soul will grow and advance in life and through lifetimes.

In this realm of our present-day life, if we have hurt someone and feel guilty about it, we have already experienced their pain. Better yet, if we are going to hurt someone, feeling their hurt in advance becomes a prod and signal not to do it. Now, we are not only not making that particular karmic lesson unnecessary, but we are living in advance the hurt that we would otherwise feel on the other side.

And then there is the interfusing of souls, as if we are mists surrounded by a membrane and able to flow into each other. This is how it is, I hear and I learn, on the other side. And yet we do this on this side when we identify with someone, especially someone whom we love dearly. We melt, we interfuse, we exchange substance much like the one-celled paramecia which conjugate, interfuse and then separate. And when we interfuse, we have experienced each other not only in love but in feeling and learning, and we are enriched on both sides, and increased on the whole.

This is how it is on the other side, and yet this is what we do here: in love, in empathy and in true intuition about another person.

And what about the immortality of the spirit? It is certainly true that the inner self doesn't change that much throughout life. I remember when I was three and four and sixteen and twenty, and now I am in the seventies. Am I different? I don't think so. Not at core, but my body is different. My experiences are accumulated, but the sense of self is the same.

As I share this view with my patients, with my friends and with all around, they seem to be saying, "Oh, yes." And haven't you noticed that as the body changes, the inner person is surprised at the changes? All of this coordinates so well with the near-death and after-death experiences that are now so abundantly reported.

I think as we keep learning, as the gates are opened so that we can see more distantly, and on the other side view the immortality we are, we will also see that we are living it now, albeit dimly.

Why can we perceive, but dimly? It is because of the veil of doubt, the Lesser Guardian of the Threshold, making us forget and causing us not to realize our dimly perceived experience, the experience of the spirit plane. There must be purpose in this, and I would like to discover what it is, for the more that is revealed, the more we will live on the higher plane and move into the future that is called The Immortality That We Are.

Lessons from the soul.
