Dear Louise,

I am a 33-year-old woman who is writing you from Italy. I've read all your books, and I like them so much that I went to your seminar here. The experience was vital for me! Thanks to the two-day conference, I was able to get rid of my psoriasis.
Right now, I'm trying to make the right decision about another aspect of my health. I can't decide whether or not to have an operation for hyperthyroidism (as a result of this condition, I also have goiter and palpitations). I have put it off until now because I have been told that after this operation I would need to take medicine every day for the rest of my life, and I'm not sure that I'd be able to do that. In one of your books, you suggested that readers "overcome their limitations," and I believe I've done that, but what else can I do to avoid this operation?
C.M., Milan, ITALY

Dear C.M.,

All of your dis-eases are different forms of being frustrated in life. I see that your creativity has never been allowed to flourish. For whatever reason, you will not allow yourself to express yourself freely. You did very well in releasing the psoriasis; now you need to work a little deeper.
I would like to suggest that on a physical level, you work with a nutritionist who does traditional Chinese medicine. On the metaphysical level, there is a Louise Hay-trained teacher in Milan: Max Damioli -- 392-461-360. Let yourself have a few sessions with him to help you permanently clear out this pattern. When I reach a stuck place in my own life, I turn to a therapist -- a well-trained one can often see clearly what is hidden from our own eyes.
Affirm: I PARTICIPATE IN MY OWN HEALING PROCESS WITH JOY!

Dear Louise,

I recently moved to Atlanta and have started a mail order business selling vitamins and herbs. I feel good about it and want this enterprise to be a success. Since I am currently working as a temp and the job will end soon, I am preparing my mail order business enthusiastically.
I have heard so much about serving the customer and "doing what I love and then the money follows." But how can I better serve my prospective customers and not be caught up in "just making money"? Could you give me some suggestions on how I might do this?
D.D., Atlanta, GA

Dear D.D.,

Doesn't it feel wonderful to start your own business! Do you realize that 35 percent of all businesses in America are owned by women, and you are joining their ranks. The sky is the only limit to how far you can take your career. Forget about the money. Have a good product that enhances customers' lives. Give good, dependable service. Go that extra step, and you will have customers for life. Before you open the mail or answer the phone, bless that order or that phone call with love. Pay all your bills on time. Send out your orders promptly. Add a little something extra in each order, perhaps an affirmation card. See all your business dealings as opportunities to bless and prosper each other. When you give with love, then the money comes by itself.
Affirm: I DESERVE TO PROSPER. MY INCOME IS CONSTANTLY INCREASING. I AM A SUCCESS, AND I AM SAFE.

Dear Louise,

I am happily married 27-year-old man who works in the engineering field. I like parts of my job, but I have a rather stressful relationship with my boss, as I do not really respect his judgment or his actions. However, this situation has been going on for over a year, and nothing has really changed recently, which is why I'm baffled by a physical problem that I've been having for the past two months.
I do get headaches periodically anyway, but it seems that every Monday by about 2:00 P.M., I get a terrible migraine that lasts into the evening. I've been taking a prescription drug every Monday night when I come home from work, and I've come to dread that day each week because of these headaches. First, can you think of any reason why I might be having this problem on Mondays; and second, can you give me any advice on how to curtail them without using drugs? Thank you.
R.C., Dallas, TX

Dear R.C.,

Your body is telling you loud and clear to quit your job! Why would you work for someone whom you do not respect at all? Of course you have your migraines on Monday -- you don't want to be there! You are forcing yourself to do something that violates your values, and then you punish yourself for doing so. More heart attacks occur on Monday morning than at any other time. Same reason: people hate their workplace.
Most people who create migraines are perfectionists. They stress out all week at work trying to be super-perfect, then when Friday night comes and they try to relax, all that tension bursts forth in a monumental migraine headache. Often, that headache will last all weekend. Your pattern is just a little different.
Love yourself enough to give yourself a 15-minute meditation break every day. Go somewhere on your lunch break, sit quietly with your eyes closed, and for 15 minutes do nothing! You need to quiet yourself down inside. As you end your "do nothing" period, use the affirmation: I ALWAYS WORK FOR WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHOM I RESPECT AND WHO RESPECT ME. Life will figure out how to make that true for you.
