My Current Opinion

It was sometime in the late '70s . . . I was sitting in meditation and had a vision. I'd been thinking a lot about how our lives are really our own creations -- brought about by the total of our thoughts, feelings and actions. I was feeling grateful for the knowledge that through meditation I had the tools for healing my life (an ongoing process) when it occurred to me that groups of people could have a larger effect.

I saw the possibilities of a global meditation. If people all over the planet could be brought together simultaneously in whatever type of meditation, prayer or focus of consciousness they were comfortable with, the resultant thoughtform would be very powerful. "Where two or more are gathered," extended to a global level, would generate tremendous light. I saw variations. The meditation could be done at regular intervals at fixed times. It could be passed from time zone to time zone so that it would be in effect for the whole 24 hours of a day. I was very excited about this vision, but at that time I lacked any sort of voice in the media and did not know how to promote it.

When it is time for an idea such as this to manifest in the world, it comes to many people. I was very happy when I first read of John Randolph Price's efforts with what I think was called The World Instant of Cooperation. Since then, there have been many such events and I have tried to participate to some degree or other in them all. As I've stated previously in this column, I believe these efforts had much to do with bringing an end to the cold war and lifting the specter of imminent nuclear annihilation from the mass consciousness. We can apply this to the rest of the problems facing the planet -- and with the same results.

We have such an event happening this month on the 23rd. Please read the center spread article, A Call for Simultaneous Global Meditation and Prayer, about the GaiaMind global meditation. This is indeed a very powerful moment that should not be passed up. The astrology of this event is sound. An almost perfect six-pointed star will be formed at the time indicated. The connection to the energy that drove the '60s that the organizers point out is also correct. I have been talking about this period of time for years myself but had not noticed the configuration on the 23rd until it was shown to me by the GaiaMind folks.

I don't know what the GaiaMind organizers have planned beyond this event. Whether they, or someone else, works to harness the awesome power of a mass consciousness united in light and love, I know that this work must and will continue.
