The Final Phase of 1997:
Expectations and Opportunities

from an audio tape dictated by Lazaris

Key words for the last three months: being conscious, being responsible.

Winning . . . being triumphant . . . as the final three months of this year begin to unfold, you will find a strange -- sometimes eerie -- mix of energies. As strange or eerie as they may seem, you can use them to create a bit of esoteric alchemy. You can use them to work a bit of magic. With this alchemy and magic, no matter how your year began and no matter how it progressed, it can conclude joyously with a winning sense of triumph.

As 1997 enters its final phase, being very awake and ever present will become increasingly important and valuable. Being conscious and being responsible will be the keywords during this time of potential triumph that could otherwise be turmoil.

As summer gives way to fall, the energies of disarray can run rampant. Many will find abundant "reasons" to feel self-pity for themselves, for those they love and for their world. Many will find that there are too many "opportunities" heavy with harsh judgments, in their world and in their reality. Depression becomes the balm as people repress their dreams and desires. Blame becomes the avenue as people, searching for the right, too often only find their righteousness.

You will see it internationally, nationally, and in your own personal world. You may surprise yourselves as you fall into pity or depression or as you wrangle with blame and righteousness. The energy is ripe as fall unfolds.

Countering this disarray run rampant, phenomenal healing energies can flow unbound as well. There will be the crackle of freedom that comes with new opportunity and with uplifting hope and expectation. There will be surges of love filled with passion and spirals of love overflowing with compassion. Many will touch a joy beyond happiness; many will be touched by the transcendent.

It will be a time of paradox. Despair and liberation will share the horizons of what will be. While judgment can be heavy, forgiveness will be ever present. Guilt will attempt to hush the human spirit and yet that spirit, unstoppable, will ignite and its brightness can become brilliant.

Within the paradox, there will be a personal quiet that could be either denial-retreat from truth or a deepening and embracing of truth. Either way -- denial-retreat or deepening-embracing -- something dies and something finds new life. What will it be in you?

It is a time of extending expectation and opportunity. The range of each will be broad and widening. From the depths of despair to the pinnacles of light, the range of what can be will be as a smorgasbord laid out in front of you.

It is a time of decision-making. It is a time of fundamental choosing. It is a time of pause. Within that pause, it is time to create a moment . . . a moment that is at once fundamental and transcendent. It is a time to be in tune and in touch. It is a time of peak experience.

This all sounds wonderful but it begs the question: How do I do that? What should I be focusing on as this year completes itself?

We encourage the following:

October . . .

During this month be very conscious of not only what decisions you make, be conscious of how you make those decisions. Focus on knowing your pattern of decision-making. If you like that pattern, augment it; if you are not happy with it, use the techniques you know to change it.

One of the easiest ways to find clues is to look at how you order in a restaurant. From fast food to elegant dining, do you order first, setting the tone? Do you wait for everyone else to go first so you can order something the same or something different? Do you order because of the price or because it is new on the menu? Do you order as a last-minute impulse or do you let others decide for you?

The answers here are not earth-shattering, but they can offer you clues. They can show you the nature of your decision-making. You will find that the same pattern will show up in more critical arenas of life.

Ask yourself: "Is my decision-making a function of weakness or of power?" When do you make decisions? Many will only make decisions at times of trouble or in states of desperation rather than at times of success or in states of strength. Many see decision-making as a duty and obligation to be done only when necessary. It need not be so. Decision-making is a human gift; it is an opportunity that can become preference.

Give attention to the way you make decisions. Openly accept that pattern or actively change it. Give attention before your reality seems to force you to pay attention.

November . . .

Allow a hush, and in that hush, look for ways that you can give to yourself and to those you love. Ponder the possibility and savor the reality of gracious giving. That is, look for ways that you can lift your natural tendency to give to a level of grace. Allow your giving to be filled with grace . . . your grace.

Human grace is that which comes naturally. It is as flight to an eagle. Human grace is to continually seek and learn new skill; to continually seek and make new choice. It is rising to the challenge of your strength, power, and talent; it is rising to the challenge of life, superseding and surpassing. Your human grace is creating order and then creating meaning and significance to break the order to create a new one. Your human grace is to be spiritual . . . to continually seek a relationship and then a partnership with God/Goddess/All That Is.

Each of these things comes naturally to you as human beings. You don't know this. Often humans have lost their sense of grace. Too many in your world have lost that gracious sense.

So it is time for you to focus on giving in a way that you can awaken your grace and the grace in others: gracious giving.

December . . .

Amid all that, December is for you; it is certainly a time of giving. Within and without traditional religions of the world, the winter is a time of giving. During your December, let it also be a time to awaken freedom. Let it be a time that you meditate upon and ask for dreams that will lift you to new heights and depths of freedom.

You are the dreamers of your world. If not dreamers, then you are the dream weavers. It is time to dream other dreamers awake. It is time to weave other dream weavers awake. It is time to once again dream of freedom . . . freedom from and freedom to . . . it is once again time to reach for a personal liberation, and with it, for a personal sense of triumph.

Secrets of a winning year . . .

If you will allow yourselves these three focuses . . . decision-making, gracious giving and dreaming of freedom . . . you will be able to navigate your way through the wayward energies with their disarray. The troughs of energy can be your pause to regroup and redirect. They can be your opportunity for more loving and more healing.

You will be able to crest the waves of the forgiveness that will naturally be there. You can rise with the strengthening human spirit that is so much a part of this phase.

In the paradoxes you encounter, with clear decisions, gracious giving and dreams of freedom, you can deepen and embrace truth . . . your truth. You can die to the pain and to the fear that have too long encumbered and entangled you. Your love, seeming so fragile yet so strong, can emerge with new life and renewed power.

It sounds too easy and the loving words sound too familiar. Yet, with the mixture of decision-making, gracious giving and dreaming of freedom, a standing wave of resonance emerges. The standing wave is more powerful than its components . . . it is more powerful than your decisions, your giving, and your dreams. It is more powerful than you in that moment. Such is the nature . . . such is the grace of resonance.

In that resonance there is a moment that can be eternal. In that resonance there is a moment that can be transcended. You can lift . . . you can be lifted . . . to greater expectations and opportunity.

You can win. You can conclude this year winning with the victory of character. You can be triumphant.

With love and peace,
Lazaris
