The True Purpose of Numbersby Gail Minogue
Words are numbers made manifest. Their symbolic meanings teach us more than is apparent.
Have you ever wondered why your life has been guided in a certain direction? Why one individual is an artist and another a banker? How did all this happen? Even more important, why did all this happen? The answers to these questions lie hidden in your own numbers, veiled or disguised by the letters in your birth name and your birth date. For each of us to truly understand our life direction for this incarnation -- as well as the lessons we have chosen to learn, we must penetrate the mask of our birth name and birth date. If we choose to uncover them, we can make wise use of the gifts of this lifetime. Through these letters and their corresponding numbers you are given a window that sheds light on the talents and abilities you possess, the obstacles you must overcome, the careers you are best suited for and the improvements you can make. The study of numbers and the corresponding letters is called numerology. It is an ancient teaching based on the premise that there is a Divine Order in all things. Every particle of energy, be it a sound, a color or a thought, is vibrating at certain numerical levels and in this orderliness is perfect balance. We, too, arrive here in numerical balance. This is why the Bible tells you that your days are numbered . . . it doesn't mean you have so many days to live, it means you are marked or coded. "Every hair on your head is counted." Thus we continue as the "Spark of the Supreme Creator," in perfect balance. Every lifetime spent in this earthly dimension provides us with an opportunity to correct and balance. Some call this karma, others call it coincidence -- but it is always a balancing. You may have heard the expression that a person who steals from someone only steals from himself. This is telling you that the law of balance will always be honored . . . that at some time, either in this lifetime or one in the future, this action will be corrected. That is why it is not wise to judge others. We do not know their "blueprint" nor what they are striving to correct at this time. Having said all this, how can we help ourselves to understand the blueprint we chose before entering the body form? We can help ourselves by learning the meaning of the numbers. Hidden within the total letters of the name lies your destiny. This is what you said you wanted to try to accomplish while you are here now. Hidden within the vowels of your name lies the underlying motivation for what you do (what drives you, what gives you true joy). Hidden within the consonants of your name lies the personality you have chosen. The birth date explains the major learning lesson of this incarnation. This learning lesson is what you will be drawn to do while you are here. The missing numbers within the name point out the corrections you will be making (neither good nor bad, simply corrections). Can you imagine starting out on a trip and not knowing your destination or what route you would be taking? Can you imagine getting out on the road and not knowing what tools you have to help yourself if you encountered trouble? You probably would not attempt it. Most of us, however, live our lives not knowing what is our true earthly purpose, what we are striving to accomplish, what karmic corrections we agreed to perform and the time frame within which these events take place. Through numerology, you can understand your name and birth date as your destination, your map, your vehicle, your estimated times of arrival and clues as to what will be taking place, and when, while making the journey. It is one of the most important and simple self-help tools available to us. Remember, we did not come here without a plan. It is imperative to find out what that is and live it. When you arrived here you were given the gift of free will. At all times, you can choose to ignore the blueprint you previously created (and are solely responsible for). Always remember though, that you came here on purpose and with a plan. If you truly want your life to work, it is wise to acknowledge that plan and be guided by it. One of the greatest assets of numerology is the ability to connect with your own time frame. Be aware that you are on your own timetable -- no one else's. Not a parent's, not society's. When you understand this, there is peace of mind in all you do. You can stop judging your performance based on how or what someone else expects or what someone else is doing. Some souls bloom very early, some bloom later and others bloom early, quiet down and bloom again at a later time. Just as no two snowflakes are alike, no two numerological blueprints are alike. When you are aware of your own time frame, you can start to create the situations that will work best for you and incorporate them in your life before they are really needed, almost as if you are setting things up for their proper time. You have the opportunity to consider how best to use your "Now-Time" by creating "Future-Time" much to your advantage. As you begin to study the numbers (and we are not speaking about mathematics), it becomes immediately obvious that there are only nine main numbers. The "0" is considered a God number or the creative protective source. When the total of our numbers end with a zero, such as a 10, 20, etc., we always know our lives have been given added protection earned from prior lives. Beyond these nine main numbers are compound numbers, i.e., 11, 12, 13, etc. If we add these numbers together, we always return to a single digit, one through nine. Each of these nine numbers has distinct qualities. These vibrational qualities are what mark our days. If we have an excessive amount of a certain number, we will demonstrate an excessive amount of the personality of that number. For example, the number six is very loving and always striving to be the harmonizing influence in any situation. It is also very domestic and concerned with the immediate family and the family of humankind. If you have quite a bit of six hidden in your name and date of birth, you most likely will be exhibiting these traits. This is the person who always worries if you are catching cold, do you need a ride home, are you hungry? Books could be written just on this number alone. Even when we draw the number six, it looks pregnant, "in the family way." If you go back to the 1960s, we had ten years of the "flower children." Always seeking peace, love and brotherhood. This is just a tiny example of the influence of a numerical vibration. As we study every number we can see the Divine Orderliness. Just as we have blueprints for our lives, so do all things in the universe. All words have certain numerical vibrations. The word "love," for example, is considered a "9-powered" word. It totals up to the number nine. We can add up each letter in the word love -- "L" is the 12th letter, "O" is the 15th letter, "V" is the 22nd letter, "E" is the 5th letter. We add these amounts together for a total of 54. Adding the 5 and 4 together, we reach the number 9. Nine is considered a finishing number. Within it lies the value of all the other numbers. The journey of the numbers one through eight. Nine also stands for forgiveness, service, completion, endings, exquisite beauty and unconditional love. Over and over again, we use the number 9 in our daily expressions. It is always the ultimate, the ending, the completion. "Dressed to the 9's," "the whole 9 yards," "the cat has 9 lives." There are 9 innings in a baseball game. We use $.99 as a completion number in pricing items -- $5.99, $9.99 -- because we are very comfortable with the use of the 9 to complete things. The word "love" contains forgiveness, beauty, finishing, service and is complete within itself. As you begin to examine words and the numbers behind the letters, certain things will start to click in your life. You will begin to understand the greater picture and the divine nature of everything. You will see the patterns that have been here forever. For everything there is a season. The Bible is filled with symbols of numbers. We have read and heard of the "40 days and 40 nights," "40 years in the wilderness," "God rested on the 7th day," "7 times around the Wall of Jericho," "Jesus hung on the cross between 2 thieves," "he rose on the 3rd day," "5 wise and 5 foolish virgins" and, of course, the numbers 666 and 144,000. All these expressions have very deep and rich meaning that are cloaked in words and their numbers. To truly understand the ancient books of all religions, look at the numbers and decode them. Herein lies the real meaning of the passage and the helpful insight that is being gifted to us. We casually say that we have lucky numbers. They keep showing up in our lives -- our addresses, license plates, Social Security numbers. This is not an accident. Once we recognize that we are attuned to certain numerical vibrations chosen before physical birth, we will understand that we are more comfortable with certain numbers and will seek to have them predominantly in our lives. The Inner Knower has persisted and these ancient teachings passed down through the millenniums have remained the same. As the ancients knew of the heavenly use of numbers, so too do we. It may be an unconscious recognition; nevertheless, we are aware of it at a soul level. They will always seek to draw themselves to us. We are just now reacquainting ourselves with the healing use of colors and sounds. (There are 7 colors in the spectrum and 7 notes in a musical scale.) All colors and sounds connect to numbers. (For example, the 7th color is purple, the 7th note B.) The 7 is considered a highly spiritual color, turning within itself. We too have our own "tone" and can heal ourselves through what is regarded as the therapy of sound. As we wind down the finishing number of the '90s (ten years of the number 9 to complete this century), it is important for us to be aware that we are all embarking on a new journey. As the number 9 completes, the new energy comes in. We should all now feel that we are about to truly begin what we have said all along we knew. We have something special to do and we need to do it. It feels like a rebirth and it is. The past is over. You can never return to it. You can only pick out the pieces of it that you want to carry forward with you in your new and true life. The old order of living motivated by fear is over. We now can begin living our lives motivated by love and living up to our numbers.
