The old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times," is upon us. Millennium
madness is gathering momentum as you read these words. Never mind that the
millennium doesn't really end until the end of the year 2000 in the mass mind, it ends at the end
of 1999. You may know that there was a similar phenomenon at the end of the last
millennium. People were certain that the end of the world was upon them and many gave
away their possessions and waited on mountain tops to be among the first to go.
Because the doom and gloomers have done such a good job of warning us of our
impending calamities, you can really feel the energy building. Among those of us
tuned into these things, the phrase Earth Changes has been imprinted. Respected
aboriginal elders tell us that the time is now. We have the too numerous to mention
prophesies, that map of what North America is supposed to look like afterward, the end of
the Mayan calendar and on and on. Sometimes it seems to me that many of those
feeding the fear are almost gleefully awaiting what will surely be the worst disaster for
humanity in recorded history. I am certain that it has reached the point of doing more harm
than good.
With that much smoke, however, there has got to be some fire. And in truth we are at
a momentous point in this wave of human development. Read Genesis for brief
accounts of how we have crashed and burned (and flooded) before. We are in the midst of an
age change. There are alarming indications that Gaia is in distress and is about to
make some adjustments. The weather has been a little crazy. There is cause for concern.
But fear can only make things worse. I don't believe anyone really knows what is going
to happen. It's a good bet that something will because something always does. If you
were standing on Mt. St. Helens when it blew, then that was it for you. It's always the end
for someone at any given time. But that we are in a challenging time is not in doubt.
In preparing the 1999 Astro-Weather, I notice that the coming year is going to be
a heavy one. There will be upheaval both on the grand scale and the personal. Things
will occur that will convince many that the end is indeed at hand. It is going to be
interesting. What we need to know, however, is that the severity of this period will be determined
by the quality of the dream of the mass of humanity.
The more we fear, the worse it will be. The more we raise our consciousness the
more we can mitigate what occurs. We need to gather the mass mind in prayer and
meditation. We need to strengthen our connection to Gaia and work consciously with Her.
On the more mundane level we need to live as if we will see the other side of all of
this. Make plans for January and February of 2000 and 2001. I certainly project that
The Monthly Aspectarian will be coming out for many years to come. Most of all, we need
to leave fear behind and live in that place of peace and love within us.
Dream a good dream.
