My Current Opinion...

by Guy Spiro

This is the last issue of the 20th year of publishing The Monthly Aspectarian. Next month's magazine will be our 20th anniversary issue. It's kind of hard to believe that what Jeanne and I started at our kitchen table so many seasons ago has grown to become what you hold in your hand today.

The Monthly Aspectarian started out as a single-sheet astrological newsletter that was more or less a glorified business card for my practice as an astrologer. Some of you remember that format and the simpler version of Astro-Weather that was our beginning. A few years later, we decided to expand Astro-Weather to include all of the information that it now contains and go to a multi-page format. What at first was an eight page, one thousand circulation publication quickly grew to become our full time occupation.

As pages were added and the magazine grew, we have always tried to reach as many people as possible by taking a something-for-everyone approach to our editorial content. We were able to bring more and more information to our readers -- and your response has been tremendously positive. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have been able to share so much light with so many people over the years.

It always strikes me as odd when someone looks back over a long stretch of time and says, "I wouldn't change a thing." I would do so many things differently if I had the chance. But one of the things I wouldn't change is that I would again do what it took to keep this magazine going.

There are many people out there who contemplate pursuing a career path that is their life's work. Some are already going where their spirit leads. My advice is to keep on going and never quit. Work through the setbacks and the stresses. If you don't ever quit, one day you will make it. And even if you never hit it big, you will still be able to look back at a life spent doing the work that makes your heart sing.
