I rarely review books in this column, but when I do, it is because I was deeply touched and inspired by what I read. Last month, I mentioned one of these that I was introduced to at the extraordinary 1999 Conference for Science and Consciousness in Albuquerque. Having the opportunity to renew a long-time friendship over a leisurely lunch with the author Dr. William Tiller and his radiant wife, Jean, only added to the delight.
SCIENCE AND HUMAN TRANSFORMATION: Subtle Energies, Intentionality and Consciousness (Pavior Press, l999)* sheds new light and an understandable explanation of the gap between the limited methods of inquiry and measurement of conventional science and the infinite possibilities of para-physical and meta-physical science. In his own words, Dr. Tiller describes the book as a "paradigm-breaking book for science in that it reveals in some detail a viable larger perspective for a scientific description of nature and human evolvement in that framework. It is also a consciousness-raising and a hope-raising book for humanS in that it shows people how to use their own `intentionality' to bring about beneficial changes in their own bodies and consciousness."
Many of us have been on a Path for many years, seeking to understand how the universe works as well as our place in it. This book provides a magnificent key that I think many of you will be enriched by reading. It is written clearly enough so that the mind-boggling paradigms are not overwhelming; it is definitely "non-scientist user friendly."
Over twenty years ago, Dr. Tiller, Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering, at Stanford University, began formulating his lattice framework model of the universe. Before I go any further, let me point out the musical relevance to his breakthroughs in subtle energy measurement: Dr. Tiller and I discussed the possibility of using such measurement in demonstrating the healing effects of certain kinds of music. This would truly add a new dimension to our understanding of the psycho-acoustic miracle we know as music.
You may recall my earlier columns in which I discussed the work of Dr. Hans Jenny. His work with Cymatics made visible the effects of sound vibrations on solids, liquids and gases. Anyone who has attended one of my three-hour workshops has seen these extraordinary images. Perhaps you also took my suggestion to order the Cymatic video series from MacroMedia or from Inner Peace Music. (They are guaranteed to deepen your appreciation for the demonstrable power of sound to move matter.)
Dr. Tiller takes this work to a much subtler level. He also presents state-of-the-art information about the heart center and what makes this organ so special. His exposition of biomechanical transducers, chakras and sacred geometry unites the harmony of music with the symmetry in crystals, and extends from atoms to galaxies.
His work has enormous implications to the field of psychology. "His model can be simplified," according to Ernest Pecci, M.D., "to one major principle as a model for inner management suitable to the lifestyle and stresses of today's world: focus upon the heart with thoughts of appreciation, thus utilizing the heart's capacity to entrain the physical body to the vibration of love. Moreover, even a small group of properly entrained individuals can have an exponential effect upon the general level of consciousness on the population of the planet."
The implications for a more conscious, evolved and successful strategy for resolving war or conflict are obvious.
Dr. Pecci continues: "It is the subliminal sensations created by the antenna system within our brain and, yes, our hearts, that is constantly feeding us the information of Truth."
Based on what we now know, the power of the content of this book will assuredly send a ripple through the unified pan-holographic consciousness internet, planting new seeds of thought that will sprout in their time.
You can accelerate that process by reading even brief portions of the book. I highly recommend that you do so.
Until next time, Stay Tuned.
