Sound Matters.

By the time you read this, we're sure to have more to say about this phenomenon, but as I write this, still so close to Halloween, there is magic in the air(waves).

The rest of this column will make more sense if you re-read my column of two months ago, when I share the story of how the hypnotic, mystical and rhythmical recording known as Deja-Blues came into being.

Deja-Blues is already receiving heavy airplay on broadcast radio, as well as internet radio stations such as Choice Radio (www.choiceradio.com). I'm delighted to report that it has exploded onto Billboard's New Age chart at #21! This is particularly significant, because it's the first time I've ever had an album chart in Billboard. (Actually, I almost charted in 1994 with Afro-Desia and Trance-Zendance, but as they say, if you're 26th on the top 25, close doesn't count!)

Even more fascinating, however, is the response I've been receiving by phone, e-mail and face-to-face at conferences. Many people have been having the same sort of experiences that I had when the music first started coming through. They are having past-life visions, inner plane breakthroughs, and much more. Psychics tell me their readings have gone to a higher level when they play this album in the background.

A number of people are using the music on their voicemail or answering machine. Several report that the caller is also playing the same song - and both have a "cosmic coincidence control moment," as John Lilly so aptly defined it.

I had hoped to orchestrate a unified field/coordinated musical meditation on 11/11/2000 at 11pm EST on Choice Radio. I am referring, of course, to the World Meditation that takes place on December 30, when people all over the world participate in an unguided meditation focused on world peace. I'm sure we'll see more of these; there is so much power and potential for good.Interestingly, about 40 years ago, Steve Allen wrote a short story that touched on this principle of mind-link. It is with sadness that we note he made his transition the other day. He was one of my early role-models, and I was happy to have had the opportunity to meet him in person a few years ago when he was speaking at my local bookstore.
