Spirituality, Integrity, Past Lives and Music

I had the pleasure and privilege last weekend to be part of a two-day "Journey into Spirit" with Dr. Brian Weiss and James Van Praagh. Many of you may be familiar with them, so I'll take but a moment for background.

Dr. Weiss is perhaps the best known past life regression therapist, with several best-selling books. (Two of the titles are Many Lives, Many Masters and Only Love is Real.) Whether one believes in this phenomenon or not, he has worked with thousands of individuals, and with many audiences of 500 or more, like this one. The positive results speak for themselves. So no matter what one believes is underneath the experience (fantasy, creative imagination or reality), the positive results speak for themselves.

James Van Praagh is a world-famous medium renowned for conveying messages between the physical and spiritual realms. He is the best-selling author of Talking to Heaven and travels the world spreading the knowledge of life after death through media appearances, workshops and tours.

The event was organized by the wonderful women of Mishka Productions, Ariel Wolf and Liz Dawn. They invited me to play music to introduce both Brian and James. Much to my delight, James also invited me to accompany him on two guided meditations.

To say that the energy in the room was highly charged is an understatement. What I can tell you is that it was challenging to stay in my body enough to play the keyboards. I barely remember what I played, but so many people came up and told me they journeyed to places they had never gone to before with music, that I know it wasn't just the music but what came "through" the music.

And that brings us to a curious observation. I've been reading the reviews of my recent release, Deja-Blues. Though the album has received very positive reviews from critics, I have noticed that only one writer has mentioned her transcendent experience of the music. Which I find surprising, considering that this soundscape is much more than just evocative Middle-Eastern inspired New Age music.

The testimony of my audience last weekend bears witness that, in a receptive environment, this music evokes sacred imagery and holds a vibrational key to unlock past life memories.

If you haven't heard it, I invite you to enjoy a free sample on my website, www.stevenhalpern.com. You're also welcome to share your stories with others on my new discussion group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stevenhalpern.

Until next time, may the Sound Force be with you!
