Recently I spoke about Mesmerism, essentially magnetism, emanating from the body, and the wonderful book, Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis by James Ochsman, Ph.D., that validates the emanation of these powerful and subtle magnetic energies emitted by our minds and bodies. Ochsman goes on to further talk about a second nervous system that we carry. This is a more primitive, or, more correctly, a more fundamental nervous system. It resides in the connective tissue of the body. The connective tissue is what we think of as fascia, or sometimes "gristle." The fact is, the coverings of the brain and spinal cord spread through the body to envelop every organ and, within the organ, every cell. This tissue continues in the coverings of the arteries, the veins, the nerves, the interstices of the brain. In short, it is everywhere within the body.

Recent discoveries have shown that this connective tissue not only surrounds the cells but continues through the cell membrane by way of bridges called integrins, and connects with the cytoskeleton [structure] within the cell. Connective fibrils, therefore, continue the all-pervading communication. Everything is united. Miracle of miracles, these connections continue to and through the nucleus of the cell, and there is very good reason to think that as we get into these connective fibrils within the nucleus, there are yet other subdivisions--divisions ad infinitum--all the way to vibration energies.

This is the system. This is God¹s Plan. And it is continued in another way, by something called piezo-electricity. Electricity is generated when we bend a piece of metal, or similarly, a piece of connective tissue. In turn, the electricity generates a magnetic field. We are connected not only by the skeleton units that continue the connective tissue, but by the magnetic fields they emanate. They unite with other magnetic fields, so that every part of the body is connected with every other part of the body through these skeleton structures that continue from and through the connective tissue. Further miracles—magnetics are not confined to the body. Like the vehicle we occupy in our dreams, magnetic fields travel through the skin, beyond the body and ever outward. Not only is everything within the body connected by magnetism (creating a continuous internal holistic flow) but all is connected with the surrounding environments as well. Units within units: children within families; families within communities; communities within cities, states, planets and solar systems, universes, and cosmoses of comoses ... all of this elaborating as one great interconnection—the All--ultimately God. Not only are we interconnected, but we are ever intercommunicating.

Difficulties arise when there is an interruption in this harmonious flow. These interruptions manifest as pains, disharmonies, neuroses, depressions or even ordinary conflicts between people. These are breaks in God¹s Universal Plan of ever-flowing, continuous and harmonious universal love.

It is indeed wonderful to see this concept of the flow of magnetism. It is energy (or prana as it is called in India, chi in China, or ka in Egyptian lore). It is fulfilling to witness how, at the present time, this all becomes understandable to our scientific community.

More wonders! The connective tissue has been found to provide the matrix for the acupuncture system. Ochsman, along with other scientists such as Robert Becker, shows that magnetism, flowing through the connective tissue, encompasses a more primitive nervous system (or a more basic one, if you will), providing a foundation surround for the more elaborated nervous system with which we are familiar.

The old nervous system is analog; the new is digital. The old is pervasive; the new is specific. The old transmits magnetic energy that will restore flow and therefore promote healing by repairing interruptions to flow. Ultimately, this continues as "intuition." It becomes a source of knowledge beyond our commonly understood and digitally oriented information system. When, for instance, the Inuit Eskimos find their way across the barren fields of snow without a single landmark, they are guided by this more primitive, older, more intuitive nervous system. When medical clairvoyants such as Carolyn Myss can identify pathology within the body without the help of examination or x-ray or MRI, it is through this other nervous system. When we relate intuitively, soul to soul, and read each other's minds--as happens in deep psychotherapy—we are communicating through this other nervous system. We are communicating as a recognized part of the wholeness that God has planned for us.

Coordinate with this, there is another marvelous book, Instant Emotional Healing by Peter Lambrou, Ph.D. and George Pratt, Ph.D. [For a review, see The Monthly Aspectarian's October 2000 issue at www.lightworks.com.] Lambrou and Pratt point out that the body has a magnetic polarity which must be set straight in order for harmony to flow. They have elaborated techniques to achieve this that reveal that there are loops within the body, obstructions to flow, emotional cysts, so to speak, created and implanted by emotional shock. These cysts persist to create Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or other psychological pathologies.

The blocks can be relieved without going through thought construction. They can be relieved by tapping on certain acupressure points. These blocks to emotional flow, to magnetic flow, can thus be uncovered and drained, and in this way give great hope for "instant emotional healing." This points to a new, more readily available and faster type of therapeutic healing.

Currently Ann and Bob Nunley promulgate a technique called "tracking." In this, a fixed and painful emotional state is identified. Also identified is its locus within the body. The Nunleys rely on the wisdom of the emotion. With the patient in a state of relaxed focus, they will ask the feeling to carry the patient back to its time of origin. The emotion is then pulled out of the body, so to speak, and given a symbol. Then they seek another symbol of an emotion, or a way of adjustment, that would serve the patient better. This procedure is surprisingly quick and effective, and even lasting results are achieved.

Someone who has been trained in the verbal therapies as long as I has to wonder at such phenomena. But they can be better understood when we look into this second nervous system and the flow of magnetism that we are. They can be understood when we relate to repairing the interruptions to the harmony of the flow, to blocks that have been caught in the body and cause pain, depression, Post Traumatic-Stress Disorder and recurring emotional shocks. We can begin to understand how relief follows the release of flow. When this happens, there is greater harmony within, greater health and happiness generally, and a greater outflowing and a joining in harmony with those around.

Our second nervous system is a system of harmonious flow. It is part of God's holistic plan for the interflow and our harmonious communication and contribution to each other.
