The Nature of Healings

A healer delves deeply into what healing is all about.

I am referred to as a healer. In the past, I accepted the definition of what I do as healing. I thought of myself as a healer. Then it was pointed out to me that the term "healing" presupposes illness, which made sense. Since I never want to reinforce the idea of illness, I now propose another definition for healer: an uplifter, or one who helps align others with Pure, Positive Energy. Such energy resonates creation and renewal. It arranges for balance and harmony in the workings of all things. By helping to connect others with this universal benevolent force, it is possible to act as a catalyst for their higher vibration of well-being and spiritual growth.

Many ideologies, ancient and current, teach that wellness is the co-creation of the healer and the one who wishes to be healed. They explain that when you focus on your improvements, however minor, you become conductive to Universal Healing Energy, (referred to as Chi, Ki, Prana, etc.), allowing it to flow to you and through you, further enhancing your healing. Conversely, if you focus on lack of improvement, to whatever degree, you cut off that wonderful energy, disallowing its flow. They teach also that it is wise to be grateful for every small improvement. Show appreciation. Give sincere thanks to your Higher Power for supporting your alignment with wellness on all levels of existence.

In other words, when you focus on the lack, it grows; when you focus on the improvement, it grows -- the old "cup half empty, cup half full" business. Most of us are aware of this philosophy being a basis of positive attitude teachings. It can be applied with great results to any aspect of life. It reflects the constant manifestation of the universal Law of Attraction.

Do you perceive yourself as getting well or do you perceive yourself as still unwell? Your perception, and as a result, your vibration, is a huge factor contributing to your rate of recovery.

For a farfetched example, imagine this:

A woman has been ill for months with paralyzed legs. A healer comes to her, works with her, and helps to restore the use of her legs. We would assume she would be overjoyed.

"I can walk! I am well!" she would cry. "Thank you, thank you!" Certainly the appropriate response. However, imagine her immediately afterward, focusing elsewhere, less ecstatic.

"Eeuuw, look at all these disgusting bed sores! I hate them! I look awful! And I feel weak and wobbly; I've forgotten how to walk properly! Oh, no!"

Obviously, this is exaggerated, but not all that far from what can occur. We do tend to focus immediately on what "wrongnesses" still need to be fixed rather than continuing to relish what has been fixed!

It seems to be in our nature as a species (probably programmed through millennia) to put our attention on what we do not want, taking what is already in our lives that we do want for granted. Maybe that's where the expression, "Stop, and smell the roses" comes from.

As we are stressing over money issues, family issues, relationship issues, job issues, and so on and on, we are constantly pushing against what we're trying to change in our lives. It's exhausting. It also blurs what gives us joy; it distances us from what makes us happy. As a result of such constant misguided focus, parents can feel they have missed the entire childhood of a son or daughter, they've been so caught up in what they've perceived as day-to-day pressures.

In the case of the woman we invented above, if only she would keep her attention on the sole delight of being able to get up and walk at all, with each step she would get stronger; with each step her bedsores would heal and fade, however minutely; with each step and the appreciation of each step, she would be attracting a great abundance of that powerful energy that aligns itself with a positive viewpoint. Her vigor and vitality would increase dramatically! Her general health and appearance would quickly follow suit!

I often have had experiences similar to what follows:

Perhaps a client contacts me for help with chronic, debilitating headaches. We start his healing in the midst of one. By the end of the session, I ask him how he is doing.

"Well, there is still a slight twinge above my left ear," he says.

"Is it better than before?" I ask.

"Oh, yes! Incredibly better! Almost completely gone! But that twinge, it's still there. Shouldn't that be gone, too? It seems to be getting stronger."

And so it probably will if he continues to focus on the negative experience of slight residue pain, thereby cutting off his connection to the positive energy of well-being.

Instead, after the session, he might spend his day reveling in his renewed wellness, thus inviting and attracting more of the continuous flow of that clarifying Chi that cleanses and dissolves congested energy. Very soon, he could be completely well.

Otherwise, he would probably manage to recreate a little more headache, and yet a little more, as he allowed his attention to be drawn time and again to the troublesome twinge, insistently poking at it with his mind, magnifying it with his scrutiny. Another session might be required as soon as possible, with aspirin in the meantime.

The lesson here, should one require a lesson, is that with as little effort as what you choose to put your attention on, you can change your condition -- not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Healing can be an arduous business, or a thrilling one. Your choice. Our choice.

When I encounter a new client, rather than "agreeing" with a condition diagnosed as some illness or other, I envision him as he is in his natural native state of perfect wellness. Then, I am able to lift him spiritually into high vibrational frequencies.

After stabilizing his new frequency, I help him, with verbal direction and the assistance of his guides and angels, to detach from any low-frequency, negative energy attachments or pain-bodies that may be compromising the purity of his auric field. He is thus relieved from the detrimental influence of anything vibrating at a lower, slower pulse. I lift him still higher, again with spiritual aid, empowering him to align himself fully with the Pure Positive Energy of the Divine. Here his body can shift frequency as well, thus spontaneously restoring balance, harmony and order to his physical, mental and emotional systems. The Prana, the Chi, the Energy that Creates Worlds is now flowing freely, unobstructed by degraded vibration of any kind. An awesome, celestial "high"!

This is the place where my more "positive attitude" clients reap all their rewards. One comes to mind instantly. Her name is Jeanny Edwards. Though she lives mostly in the United Kingdom, I met her at a seminar we were attending near Palm Springs, California.

Here is her story:

For several years I dealt successfully with cancerous tumors, holistically. Then I began to manifest insistent new symptoms that wouldn't respond to the healing modalities I preferred.

The medical diagnosis was Lymphoma; my lymphatic system was totally congested, no longer capable of filtering toxins from my body. My doctors warned me that I had very little time to get it working again before my organs would start packing up and my life would be over. All I was offered as treatment in the UK was chemotherapy and biopsies, a route I chose not to take.

Responding to powerful intuitive urges, I traveled to California, trusting that there I would find a certain someone who could help me get well.

However, my condition worsened steadily. I developed a blockage in my upper stomach and could barely get any food down. I suffered frightening heart palpitations and numbing exhaustion. I had constant, tearing pain in my lungs and chest, making it extremely difficult to breathe.

That spring I was due to return to the UK and still had not met "the person" I knew in my heart would help me. Desperately weak and ill, sometimes I felt very discouraged. I wondered if I would be capable of returning to England, even to die.

One weekend I dragged myself to a seminar with a friend. There I met Renée while she was demonstrating a healing tool she uses called The Wheel of Life. The next week I experienced a three-hour telephone session with her, with miraculous results. Most of the pain was gone! I felt so well, I dined out that night, devouring a hearty meal. The following weeks I often went dining and dancing with friends! I felt flexible and energetic, completely different from the last twenty months. I took the usually grueling flight home in stride and bounced back into the UK looking and feeling great. Immediately, I began working full time and exercising regularly.

I also wear my Wheel of Life medallion daily, enjoying how its energy supports my well-being. I have regained my zest for life and I know I have a future!

My medical doctors confirm my good health with chest x-rays that show two strong and perfect lungs!

I can't explain my session with Renée. All I know is that it worked and continues to work. She taught me how to surrender to God, and introduced me to A Course in Miracles which teaches that God is Love, and as extensions of God, we are Love. Only Love is real. She told me, "Anything other than Love is illusion, something else entirely," and I think that's what Renée and our angels lifted from me during my session -- a "something else" that didn't belong with the true me -- the "me" I really am!

I believe she opened the door to who and how I was meant to be: alive, healthy, prosperous, evolving, unconditionally loving -- here, like all of us, as an extension of God.

-- Jeanny Edwards

Jeanny is a perfect example of someone having a little help with opening her spiritual gates to inflow Universal Chi, then keeping those gates wide open by maintaining trust in her own wellness and her deservability of that wellness. After our session, her focus, instantly, was on what felt good and what felt better -- not on whatever aches and pains might be left over, nor on any negative future possibilities. In other words, she attended wholly to her "now."

As she continued to concentrate on what uplifted her and what pleased her, the inflow of pure, positive energy was intensified, further reinforcing her renewed state of fine health. Eventually any little leftover twinges and kinks work themselves out, but someone like Jeanny is so tuned to the bigger picture that she never even notices them in the first place, they are that inconsequential in relation to her new found vitality.

This is the true nature of healing. Focus on the positive, and you will attract more of the positive. Like attracts like. Law of Attraction. Period.

Based on this philosophy, I usually invite new clients to sign the following pledge to themselves:

I, _______________, knowing that total wellness is a co-creation between my healer and myself, the grace of the Creator, and my guides and angels, hereby pledge that I will do my best to focus only on the positive changes in my life.

This is valuable whether your healer is psychic, holistic, or medical, because in the end it is mostly up to you to create and maintain your wellness by anticipating it and enjoying it. That goes for any circumstance you want to manifest in your life, be it good health, romance, abundance, body shape ... almost anything you could think of. Stay on the track of appreciating the plus points instead of belaboring the negative. Alter your belief system to constantly embrace all of life's promising possibilities. Avoid wallowing in distress. If life gets a little bumpy, remember to count your blessings so you can view your cup as half full, not half empty. Even though it may register for some as cliché, it's the best advice I could give anyone. And I'll do my best to follow it, too.

Renée will be in Chicago to do a live group healing during August 4th and 5th, 2001.
