MEDICAL INTUITION -- The Power of Insight
by Caroline Sutherland The gift of Medical Intuition is the ability to perceive imbalances in the body on subtle levels ... a teachable skill that with time and practice, anyone can learn. Medical intuition is now considered one of the most exciting areas in complementary medicine. Medical intuition like any intuitive ability comes from having a quiet receptive mind -- Over and over again one may encounter large groups of beautiful, highly evolved, spiritual people who are in physical pain, tired, laboring, lacking in stamina, focus and mental clarity. These people have great missions, ideas and projects that they want to complete but they do not have the physical strength to match the evolution of their soul. Every body is different, and many medical intuitives in the early days of their practice tend to view each person as a unique set of systems that needed to be decoded. But over the years of seeing thousands of patients, patterns develop which lead to identification of different body types. It is as if the universe revealed a key to understanding illness. Curiously, these specific types of people possess characteristic tendencies in their health and disease profiles. These system imbalances are both physically and personality based. When these profiles are balanced emotionally, nutritionally and chemically, people seem to regain their health. For example, a person with central nervous system stress or a CNS type, needs to watch the conversion of starch to sugar. Too much sugar in the blood stream can render them irrational and unstable. They are invariably over-stimulated and do better when they eat protein at each meal. On an emotional level, they tend to defer to others, focus on the past and future and are rarely in the present moment. Anyone with light colored hair is a CNS type. They tend to be driven, are results oriented, and over time their bodies break down much faster than a digestive, lymphatic, hormonally imbalanced person. The DLH type is not as common as the CNS type. These people usually always have dark hair, can be of African American, Hispanic, Eastern European, or Asian heritage. Dairy products affect their digestion and respiratory system and there are often blockages on the lymphatic level, which are related to supressed emotional issues and compounded by the ingestion of dairy products and caffeine. Hormonal imbalances for most DLH types appear to be at the root of their difficulties with weight gain, mood and temperature regulation. An intuitive may perceive a dark cast that appears energetically, and which usually indicates a low thyroid, common in DLH type people. A CNS type woman had been suffering from psoriasis for several years and had frequent panic attacks. She was characteristically over-stimulated and her excessive consumption of sugar was contributing to psoriasis patches as big as dinner plates on many areas of her body. Most people believe that skin conditions need to be corrected at the outer or surface level. Not so. Most skin conditions, which are chronic, start at the gut level. This is where the correction needs to take place. Miraculously, as a result of a dramatic drop in her sugar consumption, her psoriasis improved and her moods, that were mostly a result of her over-stimulated nervous system, evened out. A digestive, lymphatic, hormonal man in his fifties, a characteristic DLH type of African-American heritage, was surprised when it was suggested that he take dairy products out of his diet. Unknown at the time of his interview, he had been suffering from asthma for years. It was, however, apparent by looking at him that he was highly dairy allergic. As soon as he removed the dairy, his breathing improved and as an additional benefit, small, fatty lumps under the skin started to diminish after the pressure was removed from his lymphatic system. The body responds miraculously to the correct treatment. It does not take much to initiate such changes and we do not need to go to the ends of the earth to find the answer. Usually, the answer to many of our health concerns is within our grasp--but we just don't know it. Unfortunately when it comes to our bodies, there are many reasons why so many of us resist taking the necessary steps toward better health -- namely the addictions. The power of addiction is so strong in each person that it can take a Herculean level of emotional and physical mastery to overcome it. In the total health equation, whatever a person exposes themselves to will affect body chemistry and function. Whether it is smoking, alcohol, drugs, sugar, caffeine or chocolate, these will ultimately have an effect on optimum health, if taken to excess. We need to move past the part of us that constantly needs to be fed by the addictions. On a higher level, addictions numb the pain of experiencing life to the full -- both the valleys and depths of emotion and the higher, exalted realms. When we look collectively at health on a higher or spiritual level, the body is the vehicle which houses the soul and the personality, enabling it to complete a certain mission or purpose in life. The minute that people get in touch with the higher reason for a healthy body and respect the physical vehicle, it becomes easier to implement the discipline required to preserve it. Ironically, given the fact that we are the strongest and most prosperous group of people in the world, many North Americans suffer from a great deal of ill health. Although the body is complex, it has a phenomenal capacity to repair itself at any age, and often the simplest of tools can have the most profound effect. Countless health recoveries give the insight that physical well-being is not a mystery. Caroline Sutherland has been a medical intuitive for nearly two decades.
