Consciousness Creates

When I was a child, still in the crib, I had a dream. I was holding an American flag. I wanted it so much that I said to myself, in the dream, “If I hold it real tight, when I wake up I will have a flag.” I awoke to disappointment — but I wasn’t so far off. Nowadays, we are getting so close to understanding the laws of Nature that such a possibility is there. Indeed, Sai Baba, in India, can create a white dust, “Vibhuti,” by mental concentration. In fact, he can manifest jewels from apparent thin air, as could Madame Blavatsky, the founder of Theosophy. She was trained by the Tibetan masters, allegedly 300 years old. It was the mission of Theosophy to create a universal fellowship of humankind, to promulgate the core of religion and to understand the fundamental laws of nature. Apparently the masters who taught Madame Blavatsky were able to understand the laws of nature, beyond our present knowledge, for they could perform miracles. Transporting themselves from one place to another by mental effort, inscribing letters to their disciples which needed no postal delivery — simply appearing in the hands of the chela (student). While all this might seem like myth upon first contact, the fact is that science is now approaching something similar, and here are some of the details.

Hal Putoff, a highly respected researcher at Stanford Research Institute, has described the Zero Point Field. This is a sea of boundless energy which surrounds all of us and everything, and is the core energy of everything. It sounds very much like Brahma, the all knowing, all creative god of the Hindus. The zero point field (that is, the field of energy when temperatures approach absolute zero) gives rise to manifestation (creation) when disturbed. It gives rise to electromagnetic fields, and when one field abuts another like wave crashing into wave, manifestation appears. Additional work has been carried on by Robert John (emeritus dean of Princeton’s department of engineering) and Brendan Dunne. Through rigidly scientific work they have demonstrated psychokinesis, described in their book Margins of Reality. They have created a Random Event Generator (REG) which is a random outpouring of electrons (it is the white noise one hears in between FM radio stations), the instrument of their work. When mental concentration is applied to the random distribution of the electrons, the distribution is affected.

Formerly, Werner Heisenberg had demonstrated the “observer effect.” What he showed was that when one looks at something, observes something, it is changed. It is disturbed to the extent that one can measure either the location or the velocity of an electron, but not both at the same time. This means that mental energy is creating a precipitation of something, a placement of something. The fact is, as I understand it, that when one uses mental energy and applies it to the zero point field, there is an outpouring of force which picks out of the zero point field of energy something that becomes material. It is very much like the schema which I have elaborated that in the beginning there is Brahma, the All, the Void or, if you will, God Almighty. When creation was created, the Void, the unity of everything, became disturbed so that out of unity came duality. Vibrations all powerful and too powerful to bear, filtered down through seven levels of creation. The fourth level is called in a Sanskrit “Buddhi,” or Intuition. I call it the Soul operating as a delegate of the Almighty. The Almighty is Spirit both above us and within us. During reincarnation, the Soul fashions for itself bodies of electromagnetic force of diminishing vibration. These are, in turn: the mental body, the astral or emotional body, and finally the physical body. The physical body is surrounded by an etheric net, which is the life-force. This is Creation’s descent into physical manifestation, from the high level of Spirit down to the physical plane, the plane that we experience everyday. With conscious energy we already create. If we are architects, we visualize something, we put it into blueprint, and it is carried out as a building or a monument.

The Random Event Generator shows that in cases of mass attention (as in the awaiting of the O.J. Simpson verdict), there is a huge disturbance in the random field, which is a reflection of the zero point field. This disturbance means that the mass energy of attention is affecting the physical environment. Professor William Tiller demonstrated creation, or at least the modification of creation, by the use of mental power. He asked experienced meditators to focus their energy on a tube of water to change its pH (the acid-base balance) — and they did! To his surprise, he found that not only was the solution changed but the room itself was, also. After they had left, the charge seemed to remain in the room, for the same modification of pH occurred in a new vial of water.

James L. Oschman has shown that there is in the body a living matrix, which is a conduction system through the connective tissue of the body. The connective tissue of the body (the fascia, the tendons, and so forth) extend to cover all the organs and cells of the body. More recent work reveals that not only do they cover the cells, but the connective tissue extends into the very interior of the cell and through the cell nucleus. This is truly an assemblage that connects the most intimate and innermost parts of the body with every other part, and in fact allows almost instantaneous communication from one part to the other. The mechanism is such that as soon as something is touched or manipulated, such as occurs in body massage, piezoelectric (electromagnetic) energies are born and travel through the living matrix. Not only that, but the magnetic component emanates from the body, connecting the living matrix to the environment, showing that we are indeed connected with each cell on the one hand and with everything around us on the other. It is also true, pari passu, that when a healer will apply the Reiki hands to a patient, the disturbance within the body will absorb the specific magnetic energies that are needed, in exactly the right amount and proportion to initiate balance and healing. Larry Dossey, amongst others, has shown that prayer (his subjects did not know they were being prayed for) will increase the rate of healing in patients in a coronary care unit.

All of these are evidences that the consciousness that we carry (perhaps the consciousness that we are), does in fact produce creation and manifestation, much in the nature of the Ultimate Healer.

We are, after all, created in the image of God.
