If you are reading the print edition of The Monthly Aspectarian, you are holding our 301st issue. When we put out the first edition of our little astrological newsletter in September of 1979, we had no idea that it would turn into the magazine that it did. I can hardly believe that 25 years have gone by. It has seemed to go so fast, and yet so much has occurred. In that time, we have raised three children and become almost twice as old as we were then. The first editions were typed after hours at Jeanne’s office on an IBM Selectric typewriter. We have gone from that to paste-up boards with wax and Exacto knives, through the desktop publishing revolution to the present process of sending the entire magazine in digital form to our printer.

The changes we have seen and participated in are staggering and much too numerous to even attempt to mention. In 1979 there were only a handful of stores where you could buy books on metaphysics or spirituality. Now, the mainstream chain bookstores have more such titles than any of those pioneering stores had. Yoga, meditation, astrology and all kinds of things that were way out on the fringe then are now part of our everyday world. Teachings, teachers, and movements have come and gone, and The Monthly Aspectarian has been there for you with every breaking new wave that has come to shore.

We have always taken a something for everyone approach, and our editorial content is geared toward the newest of awakening seekers all the way to the lifelong pathworker. We have strived to offer glossy, national level content in a newsprint regional freebie format. Our longevity and the continued support of our readers and advertisers tell us that we have at least somewhat succeeded in these goals. We know that it is in our pages that our readers first encountered the work of many people who have gone on to become luminaries in their fields.

It is with some small pride and humility that we thank all who have been associated in whatever way with us over these many years. All of us are part of something much bigger and more important than any one of us. We at The Monthly Aspectarian are grateful for the privilege of being a nexus for our community. Know that we will continue to stay on the cutting edge, and will remain Dedicated to Awakening Consciousness.
