Energy Secrets: The Ultimate Well-Being Plan

By Alla Svirinskaya

Energy Cleansing of the Home

Once your home is physically clean, it’s time for directly cleansing the energy of the house. I always recommend you carry out your energy space cleansing during the period between the full moon and the new moon. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time—this isn’t something to be hurried. You should also choose a time to carry out space cleansing when you are feeling well. If you’re a woman, you should not space cleanse during your period or if you are pregnant—your energy is focused elsewhere. Switch off the telephones so you won’t be disturbed. Arrange to have any children looked after by somebody else—children are very sensitive to energy changes and shifts. Make sure that all food and drink in the house is put away in cupboards or in sealed containers. Space clearing stirs up stagnant energy and you don’t want your food to absorb any negativity. Switch off any fans or air-conditioning system as these disturb energy and make it harder to cleanse.

If you have animals, it is well worth watching where they like to sit or sleep prior to your energy clearing. In Russia, nobody will enter a new house before the cat does. This is because cats have a unique ability to sense negative energy and to feed from it. Russians will watch carefully to see where the cat will lie down first and would never think of placing their bed or sofa on those spots. Dogs, on the other hand, are drawn to areas with a cluster of positive energy. So your dog’s favorite spot could be a good place for a bed, favorite chair or desk—anywhere you will spend a lot of time. Check out “cat-spots” when you space cleanse and pay them particular attention.

Prepare yourself for space cleansing by taking an energy shower.

Energy Shower

Salt helps to absorb and neutralize any negative energy you might be carrying in your aura that day.

     • Prepare a salt rub. You need to add a little sweet almond oil to a handful of sea salt—just enough to make a thick paste. Add two or three drops of either sandalwood, sage or juniper essential oil.

! Avoid sage oil during pregnancy.

     • Standing in the shower, smear the mixture all over your body (you can avoid your head and face if you wish).

     • Shower (you can pick your choice of water temperature). While you shower, sincerely and confidently ask the water to wash away anything negative that you may have accumulated during the day. It is important, as the shower rinses the salt off your body that the water runs over the top of your head.

Preparing for Cleansing

After this shower, you should feel much lighter and more readily able to connect with the energy of your house. Dress in fresh, clean, comfortable clothes. Remove all jewelry and your watch. Ideally you should work with bare feet.

Start from the front door of the house. Always work from the bottom of the house to the top. Remember to leave at least one window open to release any negative energy released.

In Russia, we use several methods for house cleansing. Feel free to choose whichever most appeals. Or try them all and discover which you like the best—most likely one will automatically feel more natural to you.

Cleansing with Candles

In Russia we commonly use fire energy for cleansing. The simplest way of using the power of the flame is with candles.

The human energy field is magnetic in its nature. Fire energy can very easily enter into contact with our own electromagnetic field and cleanse it. It is also impossible for any energy entities to survive in fire. Don’t worry too much about this now; I will be discussing this aspect in detail later in the book.

In Russian Orthodox churches there are always banks of candles in front of the icons. People visit the church with all their misfortunes and tragedies. By lighting the candles they help lighten their mood because the candles absorb their negative energy. It is also believed that the fire energy from the candles can help any earthbound spirits to gain enough energy to return to the light.

Use only beeswax candles for your cleansing. Throw the candles away after you have finished cleansing.

! Always make sure candles are placed where they pose no risk.

In Russia, we use several methods of cleansing with candles. I will now share them with you.

Methods for Cleansing with Candles

The first method is simplicity itself. All you do is light candles in every room. To maximize the effect, try to make sure that you can always see the last candle, as you light the next. This won’t always be possible, depending on the layout of your home, but try your best to create an unbroken string of light.

In the second method you walk about the room, holding a candle. Take the candle in your right hand and then, with your left shoulder facing slightly forwards, walk around the perimeters of the room in a clockwise direction. Always start cleansing the room from the doorframe and make sure you finish at the point at which you began. See the illustration below for the candle movement directions.

Another ancient Russian traditional method uses a combination of candles and mirrors. Traditional Russian healers believed that all forms of negative energy would be pulled inside the corridor created by two mirrors and so disappear forever. This method will clear the negative energy from a single room. You will need to repeat it in each room that needs clearing.

     • Take two mirrors and place them so they are facing each other, about two feet apart.

     • Place a burning candle in between the two mirrors. The candle will be reflected in each of the mirrors, giving the illusion that there is a corridor of candles.

     • Leave for an hour. Make sure the candle is firmly fixed.

     • After this procedure, thoroughly wash the mirrors with water.

Stabilizing the Energy of Your Home

After you have purified the energy of your house, in whichever way you have chosen, you will need to stabilize the energy. To “set it,” if you like.

For this you will need an atomizer—you can buy them from garden centers where they’re sold for spraying houseplants.

Fill your atomizer with pure spring water. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil.

Spray this water around the room. Lavender is used to lighten up the vibrations and stabilize the energy of the room.

Finally cleanse yourself. Once you have finished your space cleansing and have gotten rid of any waste materials (candles, salt, etc.) you need to take either a shower or a bath. Use sea salt in the bath or on your shower mitt to get rid of any negative energy that might have stuck to you. Don’t forget to wash your hair too.
