Beyond Prayer:
Theta and Yuen Healing Methods Explored

Last month’s column focused the new research reports that seemed to deliver a death blow to beliefs that distant healing can be accomplished through intercessory prayer—prayer for God’s intervention in the natural order. The last word is certainly not in about that and I imagine the research will continue.

Prayer is an energy force that many feel directly contributes to healing. And yet, in many ways, prayer is a very general term. According to Webster’s Dictionary, prayer is defined as an approach to the deity in word or thought; an earnest request; the act or practice of praying to God. Many energy healers, like those featured in The Monthly Aspectarian, utilize prayer as part of their practice. However, the healing energies involved seem to go far beyond the concept of prayer. There is a recognition that there are issues involved beyond the obvious physical or emotional challenge. There is also a laser-like, intense quality to these healing energies. And that is what this month’s column is about. The two healing modalities we will discuss this month are Theta Healing and the Yuen Method.

Theta Healing

A good overview of Theta Healing can be obtained by surfing over to www.healing-presence.com. This is the website of Kara Lange, a Theta healer and instructor. The site points out that pain can sometimes be so overwhelming that it may seem virtually impossible to ever heal. Theta healing, however, can make healing very possible no matter what the challenge—whether it’s an illness such as cancer, financial problems, or troubles in your personal life. The Theta Healing method was channeled through Vianna Stibal in 1995 during her battle with cancer. Vianna found her miracle, and began to teach others how to find healing and happiness in their own lives. Kara is one of those who was taught and is now passing it on.

According to Theta Healing, you are an expression of who you believe you are. Many of these beliefs are carried around like excess baggage and do not serve you well.

These beliefs come from many places:

     • Core Beliefs: These are developed from the time you were in the womb and held in the subconscious mind.

     • Genetic Beliefs: These are recorded in the morphogenic field and DNA. This is ancestral memory.

     • History Beliefs: This level has deep genetic witness memories and concerns past lives. These experiences are real and may be a part of human collective consciousness.

     • Soul Beliefs: This is the deepest level. Our souls are still learning and can be redirected.

I had a chance to chat with Kara about why she uses Theta Healing. According to Kara, the difference between Theta and other healing modalities has a lot to do with how the healing energy force of God or Creator is focused. “In all the other modalities I did in the past, energies came from source through me to the client. Now I work directly with creator and creator works directly with the client.” Kara states that accessing the slow, four to seven cycles per second, Theta brain wave allows you to go directly to source, creator or all that is and co-create with the source without any interference. “It allows you to get instant healing and instant clearing,” she said.

Kara’s website contains a number of testimonials including the “A Personal Journey into Theta Healing” testimonial by Melanie Johnson that was published in the January, 2006, Aspectarian. One testimonial, however, really caught my eye since it addresses a specific aspect of the issue of why prayer in the general sense may not be enough. A client with the initials T.B. writes:

“I really didn’t believe any method could help me stop smoking. Over the past ten years, I’ve stopped smoking several times, but always picked up the nasty habit again. I was extremely skeptical about Theta Healing and whether Kara could help me ... I’ve always believed prayer is the strongest medicine and the best cure for anything, but what I never realized is the way I think had to be changed, too. Kara used prayer and the intuition given to all of us through our Creator to get to the source of why I smoked. Then through God’s love, she guided me to change the way I thought. I no longer needed the cigarette because our Creator helped show me what caused me to smoke and then helped me heal from that as well.”

Note the emphasized section. Here is a person who believed in the power of prayer, but never realized that something beyond prayer is needed for healing. This reminds me of a healing seminar I attended that was taught by the leaders of a Silva Method healing center in Mexico City. They emphasized that their energy method could heal, but that the healing would be temporary unless core thought and emotional issues were also dealt with.

If you’re interested in learning more about Theta healing, you’re in luck. Basic DNA 1 and 2 Theta Healing Seminars will be held on June 9th and 10th in West Bend near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and on June 24th and 25th in Ravenswood Manor in Chicago. For more information, go to www.healing-presence.com or call 773-588-8528.

The Yuen Method

I first heard about the Yuen Method via an email response to my March, 2006, column on Indigo children from Barbara Robins, founder of Into This Moment Natural Bioenergetics. In her email, Barbara mentioned that in her energy healing practice, it’s not only about types of new children being born, but also about operating systems as well. “I have had the pleasure of seeing immediate and significant improvement in my clients well-being when I upgrade their operating system.” She stated. “I remember one woman, a student at a workshop I was giving, who came to me during a break, tired and gray. I only upgraded her operating system and moments later she was energized and rosy.”

I decided to check out Barbara’s healing method via her website at www.IntoThisMoment.com and discovered that Barbara’s healing modality is called the Yuen Method.

According to the IntoThisMoment site, the Yuen technique differs from many others because it bypasses the conscious identification process and locates and corrects the energetic causes so you can easily and effortlessly move forward. The site describes the Yuen Method as follows:

The Yuen Method of Chinese Energetic Medicine is a powerful non-touch technique blending anatomy, physiology, applied Kinesthetics, structural analysis, energetic technique, and quantum physics, to quickly locate and shift your imbalances/blocks on all levels and dimensions. When weak energy signals in the body are identified and optimized, you can experience immediate relief from physical pain, emotional issues, unproductive behavior, and more. Chronic and painful conditions that have resisted all other healing modalities respond well to the Yuen Method.

The site contains a number of inspiring success stories including the following:

Tita Espinosa, TBM, NET, Queretaro, Mexico: “I wanted to let you know that the healing you did for my patient was awesome!!! After our first session the voices in (name removed) head decreased by about 80%. He was able to realize with clarity that he had not harmed or humiliated anyone. This is the first time he feels free of those voices since he was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive behavior. Thanks a lot and hoping to work again with you to help (name removed) clear himself completely of the voices.”

Sharon: “... seven weeks ago when I first contacted you for the weight loss clinic I had no idea how much my life would change. I am loosing inches, some weight, but the difference in my face and some of the scars I had from different surgeries are changing in amazing ways.”

Nuwati: “... I went into Energy Healer chat where I found Barbara. We did a brief session. And it is awesome; it worked. I have had many different treatments with no success. This is the first treatment that gave me relief. And the relief came so fast. I am very impressed ... I am happy because I have suffered many years of pain. Now I have finally found help.”

The Yuen Method seems to hark back to that laser-beam analogy that I made at the beginning of this column. There is something very precise about this method and it is that something that makes it a step beyond general prayer. Indeed, according to Certified Yuen Method Practitioners Shelley Radja and Nan Actipes, the method is just that, a step beyond prayer. Radja, for example, defines healing as “a focused intention with connection to Source.” To me, she states, “healing is just a step beyond prayer. I connect with that Source energy (and usually Source guidance) to help my clients.”

If you’re interested in learning the Yuen Method, a Level 1 class with Shelley Radja and Nan Actipes is being held on June 10th and June 11th in Evanston, Illinois (call 312-802-6244). The Yuen Method of healing is one of modalities of natural healing offered at Over the Rainbow, 7507 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Niles, Illinois (www.overtherainbowil.com). Yuen healings and workshops are also available through Barbara Robins (www.intothismoment.com). One of the unique things about this site is the availability of MP3s and CDs. According to intothismoment.com, bio-energetic corrections can be recorded for future use. Benefits of healing vibrations are received by playing these healing recordings. The recordings come as individual MP3s and CDs and in sets, and focus on topics ranging from abundance to the emotions and from the physical to relationships.

So what does all this say about prayer and healing energies? Theta Healing and the Yuen Method seem to indicate that there is something beyond generalized prayer that impacts healing. These somethings include changing the way you think and a certain laser-like, precise energy quality. This column, of course, is all about thoughtful commentary and not about science. But, it seems to me that science should be researching these healing energy factors. Hmmm ... perhaps they are. I’ll have to check that out.
