Daniela Ovtcharov graduated with a degree in Conservation and Restoration from the National Art Academy in Bulgaria where she met her artist husband Vladimir. Moving with him and their two children to the U.S., she works in restoration, painting, sculpture, fresco and design. She participates in juried art events and exhibits her work in galleries.

   “In my paintings I portray people because that is what intrigues me most. I enjoy listening to their stories. Those whom I respect most are poets, artists, musicians, and those who create something extraordinary. Through my paintings, I want to force people to imagine and fantasize. I want to free them from the mass culture and societal clichés that have been put on them. The darkness and obscurity cannot be removed, but with a single candle be lightened.”
