Not long ago, I wrote a piece on all of the gloom and doom and end of the world fears and scenarios that are floating around in mass consciousness. I’m still of the opinion that none of these things are going to happen, at least not in the time frame some suggest or at the magnitude. Of course, if you wait long enough, everything will happen. If you wait long enough, any and all of the things that too many people are worrying about will occur. Due to the cyclic nature of everything in manifest existence, there will inevitably be an end to our civilization. A comet will at some point hit the planet again. The Yellowstone Caldera is set to blow soon in geologic terms. There are so many things that could go wrong. Maybe even Nibiru shows up or big wide bell bottoms come back into fashion. Well, ok, that last one happens with much greater frequency.

    But lately I’ve been thinking ...What if ...What if this is it? What if this is our peak? What if this is as good as it’s going to get and we’ve reached the end of civilization as we’ve known it? What if the crash and burn is in the next few months or years?
