Breathing in the Buddha: A Photographic Exploration of Buddhist Life in Indochina by Alan Brigish. (BrigishEye, $99.50, Hardcover.)
This book tells two parallel stories. The first explores with images and extended captions, the daily life of people in four countries of Indochina. The second story is an exploration of the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths and the Noble Enlightened Path. The intent is for us to explore Buddhist philosophy in the context of the daily existence of people in the most densely populated part of the world that still practices Buddhism. In order to explore how Buddhist daily life works in these four countries, Alan Brigish visited a single city in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and
Burma (Myanmar).
Breathing in the Buddha is a 120 page, compact size coffee table book,
printed in full color on premium acid free paper. It is a limited edition; only five hundred copies will be printed. This book was created because Brigish, moved by what he saw through his camera lenses, decided
to raise money to help identify, liberate, rehabilitate, and educate children. By supporting the work of trusted local people, his goal is to help create societies where children are free from exploitation and receive free, quality education. One hundred percent of the gross profits from the sales of this book will go toward educational projects in Myanmar, Cambodia, and Nepal.
Growing tomorrow’s leaders, through education, is unequivocally the best investment in a better future for many deeply challenged countries and the best way to help bring about world peace. For more information, go to brigish.com/buddha2009.
