Vladimir Ovtcharov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria into a very artistic family and developed an interest in art at an early age. He graduated from the School of Applied Art and later received a master’s degree at the “Nikolay Pavlovich” National Academy of Art where he met his wife and muse Daniela. She helped him find his own idiosyncratic style and taught him icon-making techniques. He enjoys working in a variety of materials such as silver, copper, wood, acrylics, and oil. He has won a number of awards in juried art events and his work has been published in magazines and books. Working artists, he and his wife live with their two children in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vladimir feels that art is beautiful and he’s happy to be part of it!
